Libya limits insulin distribution to electronic system

New insulin shipments have arrived, but distribution will now only reach registered patients.

Libya's National Diabetes Authority will now only distribute insulin to patients registered in its electronic system. Awad Al-Quweri, the authority's head, announced this change, stating that insulin will not be dispensed outside this organized framework. Al-Quweri confirmed that three new shipments of insulin have arrived in the country.

Al-Quweri explained the new distribution policy to Al-Massar TV, emphasizing the move towards an electronic system for dispensing the vital medication. This measure aims to streamline access for those already enrolled in the digital registry. The arrival of three new batches offers a supply update for the nation's diabetic population.

The authority's announcement means that individuals not yet registered in the electronic system will face challenges in obtaining insulin. The specific quantity of insulin in the new shipments was not detailed. Further updates on the electronic system's capacity and registration process are expected.
