Foreign Minister Mohamed Salem Ould Merzoug stated that these discussions, held with representatives in 23 countries, covered consular services, civil status, integration, and social and legal protection.

The forum's discussions focus on improving consular services, enhancing social and legal protection, mobilizing skills, promoting investment, and understanding the role of remittances in development. The government expects the forum to produce actionable recommendations for a national policy tailored to the diaspora's needs.
