Two inmates escape Rivière-des-Anguilles police station

Police recaptured Stéphane Perrine, 29, and Jeff Wendy Leonel Domingue, 35, on November 1.

Police launched a manhunt after two inmates escaped from the Rivière-des-Anguilles police station on the evening of Saturday, October 31. Stéphane Perrine, 29, and Jeff Wendy Leonel Domingue, 35, fled their cell during a medical emergency involving another detainee. The escape occurred when a police officer was attending to a detainee requiring urgent medical care.

Specialized police units, including the CID, DCIU, and ADSU, searched the Rivière-des-Anguilles and Mahébourg areas extensively. Despite a full day and night of searching, the two fugitives had not been located as of Sunday, November 1. The police have been actively seeking Perrine and Domingue.

The two escaped inmates were recaptured on November 1. The investigation into the circumstances of their escape is ongoing.
