Rwanda trains 70 coaches in football GPS technology
The national football federation aims to improve player preparation and reduce injury risks through data analysis.
The Rwanda Football Federation (FERWAFA) trained 70 coaches and football professionals in GPS tracking technology on October 29 and 30. This technology monitors players' physical performance during training sessions.
The workshop, held at the FERWAFA Hotel in Remera, taught participants how to interpret data on player movement, speed, and acceleration. Experts stated this data helps manage fatigue and injury risks by adjusting training intensity.
Claudio Altieri, Amavubi's performance specialist, and three other experts facilitated the sessions. FERWAFA seeks to integrate sports science into coaching practices, mirroring methods used by top international clubs.
