Rebel coalition captures Sali town in Blue Nile

Sudan Founding Alliance forces advanced from two directions to seize the strategic military base.

The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) and allied Sudan People’s Liberation Movement-North (SPLM-N) fighters captured Sali in southern Blue Nile State on Tuesday morning. The fighters advanced from Kurmuk to the south and Sirkum to the west, according to local accounts. Sudan War Monitor geolocated a video showing RSF fighters outside Sali Health Centre, confirming their entry into the town.

The Sudan Founding Alliance (Ta’sis) coalition announced the capture of the strategic Sali military base, claiming significant army personnel were killed or captured and that weapons and military equipment were seized. The coalition stated its forces are committed to protecting civilians and their property in liberated areas.

The Ta’sis coalition described the victories as a significant shift in the fighting and a strategic step towards ending the dominance of extremist groups. They reaffirmed their commitment to advancing until remaining strongholds are liberated to build a Sudanese state based on justice and equality.
