OK Foods Eswatini boss Lincoln Motsa has opened his new commercial premises at Ngwane Park to three young entrepreneurs. The initiative provides a platform for a car wash and a shisanyama to operate alongside his L’s Chillers Liquor and Restaurant. This setup has created 29 jobs in total, supporting the businesses of Thabang Maphalala, who runs MAPS Village Car Wash, and Sibusiso Shabangu and Sandile Mkhulisi, operators of SISAJ Shisanyama.
Motsa, who is also the Linac Group of Companies Chairperson, stated that the project aims to uplift young people and help them establish successful businesses. The arrangement allows the entrepreneurs to operate within an established commercial setting, benefiting from shared customer traffic and mutual business activity. The establishment employs nine people at the car wash, six at the shisanyama, and 10 at the restaurant, with an additional four staff for cleaning and security.
Maphalala expressed gratitude for the opportunity, highlighting it as a significant step for MAPS Car Wash's growth and brand development. He noted that many young people face challenges due to a lack of opportunity, despite their ambition. This new location is the car wash's second in the Manzini Region, supporting its expansion goals and aspirations to create more employment and establish outlets across Eswatini.
Why it mattersYoung entrepreneurs in Eswatini are provided with business space and job creation opportunities.
