Tunisian electricity company restores website after security alert

Steg reactivated its online services after implementing fixes for a global PHP2Shell vulnerability.

The company had proactively disabled its digital platform due to a reported global computer vulnerability. This measure aimed to protect Steg's information system from potential malicious exploitation of the security flaw.

Steg stated that after applying necessary patches and ensuring security conditions were met, the platform is operational again. However, access to the website and its digital services is currently restricted to users within Tunisia. The company had announced the temporary suspension on October 22, 2026, as a precautionary step.

Other Tunisian public bodies, like the ATCT, also temporarily suspended their sites to protect user data and systems.
