Algeria extends deadline for HR plan approvals
The General Directorate of Public Function and Administrative Reform has set November 10 as the final date for approving annual HR management plans for 2026.
The General Directorate of Public Function and Administrative Reform in Algeria has extended the deadline for approving annual human resources management plans for the 2026 fiscal year to November 10. This exceptional and final extension is due to delays in resolving legal reservations on some plans and new financial position data emerging in the fourth quarter of 2026.
In a dispatch dated October 18, 2026, the directorate informed ministry secretaries-general, governors, and heads of public function inspectorates of the new deadline. This decision follows an assessment of the progress in reviewing and approving these plans, which revealed outstanding legal reservations that require additional time for resolution to ensure proper HR management.
This measure follows a previous extension from March 15 to September 30, 2026. The current extension specifically covers the approval of plans already submitted within the initial deadlines and does not reopen submissions for new plans. The directorate stressed the exceptional nature of this final extension.
Why it mattersAlgerian government administrative departments must submit their 2026 human resources management plans by November 10.
