Republic of Congo's Minister of Sports Hugues Ngouélondélé met a French parliamentary delegation on November 5 in Brazzaville. The discussions focused on youth development and strengthening sports cooperation between France and Congo, aiming to enhance relations after a 13-year gap. The delegation was led by Nadège Abomangoli, president of the France-Congo friendship group of the French National Assembly.
Young people, representing over 70% of the Congolese population, are a major focus for public policy, and their support, training, and integration were key discussion points. The meeting also addressed the situation of binationals, particularly ahead of the Congo vs. Comoros match on November 12, which is expected to feature over 20 binationals. Minister Ngouélondélé emphasized the need to continue outreach to the diaspora to mobilize Congolese talents abroad for national teams.
The French parliamentary mission aims to reinforce ties in sports and youth sectors. The minister highlighted the importance of engaging Congolese talents living abroad to play for national selections.
